This year, Earth Day takes place during The Octave of Easter, Friday April 22, 2022 and is themed “Invest in Our Planet”. The Laudato Si’ Commission of the Diocese of Lexington has chosen to focus on the issues of water. Water is essential for life--generally, a person can live for a month or so without food, but only a few days without water-- and holds great importance in our rituals and symbols of our faith. Let us consider how we can invest in our planet by investing in clean water for all. May we remember the waters of baptism as we care for creation and the life sustaining water of Earth.
