The novena in honor of the Holy Spirit is the oldest of all novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. It is still the only novena officially prescribed by the Church. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful plea for the light and strength and love so sorely needed by every Christian. (Click on TITLE for Novena)
A group of volunteers from the 8:15 Mass have been assisting several refugee families from Africa who arrived last fall. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience and continue to assist the families as they adjust to life in the U.S. We are currently organizing an effort to get several of the children enrolled in summer camp.
A Tri-lingual Mass in English, Spanish and Swahili was celebrated April 21, 2016 at Mary Queen with Fr. Vitnor, Chief Celebrant. The reception afterwards included an ethnic buffet. (click on Title for photos)
