CALL TO ACTION
On behalf of Kentucky Office for Refugees, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Americana World Community Center, Catholic Charities/Migration & Refugee Services, and the International Center of Kentucky, thank you for all you've done to help 'keep Kentucky global'. Unfortunately, our work is not done.
We ask that you stand with us once again to show Frankfort that we, as a community of faith, consider welcoming refugees and immigrants a moral imperative.
Please join us on February 16th from 1:00PM - 2:00PM at the Capitol Building (700 Capitol Ave, Frankfort, KY 40601) for a press conference.
Register here if you're able to attend. If you would like to stand behind the speakers during the press conference at 1:30, please email me at [email protected] so we can send you additional details. Clergy are asked to wear the vestments or robes of their tradition as a visible symbol of how this matter evokes our unity amidst our diversity.
We're also asking faith leaders to bring a large banner/sign with signatures from their congregation to show their support, if possible. We ask that all signs stay positive.
If you cannot be there, you're still welcome make a banner with signatures from your congregation for the press conference and/or encourage your congregation to sign the position statement. Please pass this invitation along to other faith leaders that you think would be interested.
Some additional logistics:
Hopefully,
I thank you all for taking this courageous and much-needed stance at this critical time.
