Virtual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Community Service
The 31st annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Worship service, an interfaith event hosted at Central Christian Church in Lexington, will take place virtually this Sunday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. — the time this service has occurred in years past.
The service will stream on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/q5LSMwHejnk. Feel free to share and promote this link among your parish communities.
"Thank you for extending an invitation to others to join together as one, albeit online, to be reminded of the import of Dr. King's message and life for our living of these days," said Rev. David Shirey, senior minister at Central Christian Church. "Count me as one looking forward already to being together in person next year at this time."
This year's service will include reflections by Rabbi David Wirtshafter, Rev. Carol Devine, Dr. Charisse L. Gillett, Rev. Kenneth J. Golphin, Rev. Dr. Donald K. Gillett II and Rev. Shirey, as well as a benediction by the Rev. Elizabeth King.
