LITURGY CORNER
Happy New Year!
In an effort to deepen our faith and understanding of liturgy, I will be writing a weekly column to dig deeper into the mysteries and details of our celebration of Mass and our faith. I hope you find this fruitful for you, and I encourage you to submit any questions you have to [email protected]
This Sunday begins the season of Advent and a new liturgical year. This is year B in a three year cycle of readings (A-B-C). I want to make sure you are aware of several resources to help you with accessing the readings for our Sunday (and Daily) Masses, since we don’t have missals(a collection of readings and prayers for Mass) in the pews.
Did you know we have a cart with Missals in the gathering area. The Glory and Praise hymnals also have the music that corresponds to the numbers on the number boards in the church. We also have Breaking Bread Missals for use for Daily Masses. You may find this useful if you have a hard time seeing the screen or prefer holding a book.
Additional resources with the readings can be found for purchase at Benedictus bookstore on Southland Drive. You can also find a list of additional physical and digital resources at www.mqhr.org/massresources
I hope you have a wonderful start of the new liturgical year, and I look forward to sharing with you this year.Adam Beeken, director of music & liturgy
