The Giving Tree is Here Now
The 'Giving Tree' is a Mary Queen and St. William's tradition. 2016 marks the 39th year we have been given the opportunity to provide gifts.
Gifts need to be back before 2:00pm on Sunday, December 11th. This is earlier this year because Christmas falls on a Sunday. We need to provide for 36 families with 150 children this year. Each child will have two toy tags and a number of clothing tags according to their needs.
Four of the families have lost everything in house fires. Two of the families are living in trailers with little or no furniture. the other two families are living in small sheds. Donations of furniture are welcome (contact Jeannine Tharp at 859-421-1675 or 859-366-0032).
Please take a tag, buy and wrap the gift and tape the tag, face up, on the top. Place the gifts beneath the tree in the gathering area before the deadline of December 11th. For those of you who provide more than one gift, make a copy of the tag and tape it to the top each.
St. Williams Catholic Church will be handing out the gifts on Sarulrday, December 17th. They need to have time to sort the present and buy any that are short.
Any questions, OR if you would like to help, please call Jeannine Tharp at cell phone 859-421-1675 or home phone 859-366-0032.
