We are looking for a motivated and skilled musician to assist with our growing music ministry.
The ideal candidate will be bilingual (Spanish & English), organized, comfortable with various styles of liturgical music, and have good computer skills.
We have three areas of responsibility and we hope to get at least two of these covered by the Assistant Music Coordinator.
We anticipate this being 15 hours per week with hours primarily during the weekend and evenings.
Spanish Music Coordination
● Oversee music for two Spanish Masses on Sunday 9:30am & 1pm as well as Holy Day Masses. Ensure appropriate liturgical music.
● Plan, prepare and distribute music for these liturgies
● Potentially lead and/or accompany the Coros for these Masses. Current rehearsal on Wednesday’s 8-9pm.
● Oversee scheduling and/or leading of music for Spanish language Weddings.
Quienceañera’s (potential additional stipends), and funerals
● Potential to develop children and youth coros / ensembles
Music Office Assistance
● Prepare musical resources for weekly Masses and Holy Days (digital packets and folders for musicians)
● Assist with organization and maintenance of music library
● Help create projection for Masses (weekend, Holy Day, and school)
● Assist with copyright reporting for projection and livestream
Pianist
● Provide keyboard leadership for 1-2 Masses per weekend and for Holy Days
● Attend weekly Wednesday music ministry rehearsals
● Substitute for Director of Music Ministries as needed
● Accompany the Parish Choir weekly Wednesday rehearsal and 1-2 Masses per month
● Accompany Seasonal and Special Choirs rehearsals usually on Wednesday and/or
Sundays
● Play for Funerals and Weddings (additional stipend) as needed
There is flexibility in how this role can be fulfilled as they will work in tight collaboration with the Director of Music Minstries. Areas of responsibility will be tailored to the strengths and competencies of the candidate and the structure and hours of the position are also flexible
