Father Rob Adams
will be the main priest celebrant at the 8:15am Mass at MQ on Monday May 23. This will be special, because Rob grew up in our parish and will be ordained a priest for our diocese on May 21. Also, reserve the parlor/library for a coffee and donuts reception for him after Mass.
New Praying Angels
At the Easter Vigil Mass we unveiled paintings of praying angels that now grace the walls of the alcoves on eaither side of the altar. During almost every Mass, we make reference to the fact that the angels join us in our worship, which is a foretaste of the worship that the angels and saints give to God in heaven. Since our church building was dedicated, we have had representation of the saints in our worship spae, to remind us of their presence with us when we worship. Now we have reoresentations of the angels.
These paintings have been graciously donated to Mary Queen by parishioners Jane and Richard Leake and Jane's siblings, Ann and Jerry Porter, Layne and Peggy Lohmar, Martha and Jack Gruber, and Ellen and John Moak in memory of Jane's parents, Fidelis and Edward Lohmar. The praying angels reflect the solid foundation of prayer, particularly the Rosary, that Jane received from her parents and the spirit of giving back to her church family that which her parents exemplified so well. Anne Little was the artist commissioned to paint the angels.
We are so thankful to the descendants of Fidelis and Edward for this precious gift that will enhance our prayer and praise. May they be joined to the saints who, with the angels, praise God eternally in heaven.
