DIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL
Your gracious support of the Diocesan Annual Appeal provides the outreach services and mission presence throughout Eastern and Central Kentucky with much needed resources to provide food, clothing, emergency shelter, medication, counseling, and compassionate care for those in most need. This weekend April 23-24, 2016 is our Response Sunday. Please prayerfully reflect on what you will share to aid our brothers and sisters with the greatest need.
Many parishioners who have pledged to the Diocesan Annual Appeal in the past may have received a pamphlet in the mail this past week from Bishop John Stowe including an annual report for 2015 that details the distribution total of $1,177,552. The Diocese reports that the following ministries received benefit: Clergy and Diaconate Formation 10%, Priest Retirement 4%, Assistance to Parishes 31%, Outreach Ministries 29%, Schools 14%, and Diocesan Offices 12%.For your convenience attached is a link to the Diocesan website to view Bishop John's message for the Diocesan Annual Appeal response Sunday.We will have pledge envelopes in the pews or readily available for the next couple of weekends for your use. In either case, the pledge will be given to the Diocese in Mary Queen's name toward our goal of $204,458.
