On March 4 the MQ Justice ministry met to prepare for the work of organizing that is necessary to have a large turnout at the Nehemiah Action on April 30. 

Dave Huckleberry  is very involved on the transportation research committee and he shared the microtransit update and can testify to what a difference microtransit can mak for people with a disability. 

Lise Roemmele Hsu gave the updates for where we are for the housing and eldercare work. Maria Hoctor shared the dream and the difficulties that her daughter and son in law are facing to be able to own a home in Lexington. Carey Ruiz shared some of the struggles of the past year getting the care her mother needed before she passed. 

We were inspired by Ron Hustedde and his thoughtful reasons he has committed to working for justice with BUILD. Why? We act with Love and Power and we get action and change.  Diane Monahan also inspired us with why she invests her time and money in this work. Kit Donahue prepared us to think deeply on why we are committed to this work and how to help those we invite to be clear on what a difference it is for them to be a part of this work. We were also inspired and prayed on by Frs. Miguel, Ramiro and Dcn John. 

The evening ended when those present committed  to invite and then chose at least 8 people to bring to the Action. And of course we enjoyed food and drink and each other, a great group of MQ people!!

The issues that BUILD is working on are issues that were expressed in our MQ house meetings and house meetings across Lexington. We have listened, we are researching and talking to experts and officials, and it is for naught if we don’t have a large number of people at the Nehemiah Action where our officials will be asked to take action on these serious problems. 

Justice Ministry Network Members are/will be making invitations to parishioners, friends, family, neighbors, etc to the Action. Know that by agreeing to attend and showing up you will make a difference to many people in Lexington who are struggling. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! 

Next in preparation is the Rally which is at MQHR on Tuesday, April 9 at 7.

The Nehemiah Action is Tuesday, April 30, 7 PM at Central Bank Center

The Celebration June 6, 6:30 at MQHR
