Parish Happenings
Fr. Dan discussed ACTS retreat scheduling for the spring. Weekends are as followed:
The National ACTS group will come to Mary Queen’s retreat location and video the interactions and testimonials from our parish retreats. A video will be put together and those parishes around the nation that are interested in the ACTS program will receive these informational videos featuring Mary Queen retreats.
Fr. Dan also discussed the success of Many Faces. 60 people came out for mass and fellowship for the 3rd Thursday group with Bishop Stowe.
Election Planning
PPC Elections are coming up and information will be stuffed in the bulletin on the first Sunday of September looking for new parishioners looking to serve on the Executive Committee. Elections will be held on October 17 & 18, 2015. PPC will need to replace 3 members for this election: Norma Flores and Inocencio Munez have served their 3 year term and Albert Negron has decided to step down due to scheduling conflicts with personal schedule. Pulpit talks from PPC members recuiting new members will take place on Sunday September 13.
Focus Group Thematic
Group spoke about the results from the first group discussion from August 22, 2015 for Mary Queen’s Goals and Objectives. The discussion took place at the CD room in the church from 3:00 to 4:00. Four hundred letters were sent out to randomly selected registered parish members and spread by word of mouth at the Hispanic mass. At the group discussion, 9 parishioners and 6 Parish Pastoral Council members were present. See attactment for summary of the meeting.
Group spoke about results from discussion and how these results will impact the upcoming parish survey. The resulting survey will be distributed in pews during mass and also placed online for those not available. The group plans for the surveys to be placed in pews on September 19 & 20th.
